Hands That Make, Stories That Speak
Project type
Art Direction, Spacial Design
Date
April 2025
Location
London
This exhibition celebrates living traditions and human connection through craft, co-curated with Mexican artisans including Oaxacan embroiderers, Huichol bead artists, and Talavera ceramicists. It is especially meaningful to me because of my heritage, which shaped my perspective and approach. The project invites visitors to move beyond the objects and into the stories, processes, and voices behind each piece, creating a space of empathy, cultural respect, and presence. In a world where trends and social media often reshape how these practices are seen, the exhibition foregrounds the communities and histories that give them meaning, with light playing both a literal and symbolic role in revealing craftsmanship, identity, and narrative
